About the Artist

Background:
Currently I work in my Colorado home studio and travel around the country sharing my jewelry at fine art festivals and trade shows. My jewelry is also available in galleries and boutiques around the U.S. Often, my designs are described as uniquely tasteful and sometimes Just a bit on the edge. With a degree in design and color, I seek to honor the elegance of simplicity in my work. Achieving that precious balance between clean, straight-forward lines and natural proportions of positive and negative space. Often, the final destination looks quite different from the original vision. I just love the mystery of the unfolding of each design.

Artist Statement:
"Art is an intimate, quiet dialogue between the beholder’s eyes and his or her soul.I gain inspiration from the beautiful Rocky Mountains, taking in the colors, natural shapes, shadows and textures of nature. Much thought and heart goes into the design and execution of each piece. "

Technique:
All of my creations begin life as a flat sheet of metal and wire that is manipulated into form through various techniques such as anti-clastic raising, doming, cutting, stamping and texturing and soldering. Often I accentuate the vision with splashes of color derived from semi-precious gemstones or applying a patina and accelerating the aging process to create desirable hues of color to the metal.
