Actually, there is not as much of a difference as you might think. Usually a custom order will apply to a product we already either have in stock or have had made previously. The artist just makes a version of the item with slight variations just for you. Or in some cases, we add personalized touches such as a monogram.

For example...You find a hand woven jacket that you adore in our Fiber Art Department. The one we have on display and in stock is a large size. You need a medium. Making the jacket for you in a medium would be a CUSTOM ORDER.

An ART COMMISSION would normally be along the lines of a special sculpture for a court house lawn or an oil painting of your child. Normally, they are one of a kind and a 1 of 1 edition.
