Background:
Although I've established myself as an "artist," working in my tiny loft studio, I do not live the typical artist lifestyle. I've been married to a loving man, Brian Jerzak for 15 years, and am a mother to 12 year old son and 6 year old daughter, who all keep me hopping on a daily basis. I also work three evenings a week as a Master Stylist at a local Salon. I am self-taught. Reading and speaking with other stained glass artists have contributed to my ongoing knowledge. I've realized the more I learn, the more there is to learn, as with so much else in life. My mother's need for help with butterfly wing kaleidoscopes, that were chosen for a catalog spot, led to the desire to try my own designs. But because of that early project, I have since come to love the colors and design patterns of butterfly wings as well, so many of my pieces contain wings from "naturally expired" butterflies. Working with the colorful wings, and the many colors of glass, fills my life with much happiness! And how wonderful it is to know from the comments of many of my customers, that I bring them happiness as well!

Artist Statement:
"Most often, I find myself in a panic by 10 am each morning, knowing I only have four more hours to devote to my work with stained glass. For years I've been hearing my mother say, "It's important to find a 'passion,' something that excites you enough to plunge into with your whole heart and soul!" And I have discovered that stained glass is it!! "

Technique:
It is so much fun to choose and select the multiple colors of glass for each project, and I decided in the beginning, that I did not want to use standard patterns or kits, so all of my bevels, wall and window patterns are my own original designs.
