| Breathing in Blossoms Original Oil Painting | | By: | Lorna Ritz |

| Studio: | Lorna Ritz Originals |

| | Specifics: | Original Oil Painting | | | | I am a painter of space and light, two ephemeral elements that transcend object. Each painting has its own specific inner- light through the relationship of the colors emanating off the landscape. This, being a spring painting, is also an abstract painting, allowing imagination to freely flow, to carve the space with the color that bursts forth in the early spring. - Lorna Ritz | | | | Medium: oil on linen
Dimensions: 2 x 40 x 50 inches
Weight: 35 lbs 5 oz

I have learned patience and inner strength. My painting is a form of prayer of gratitude, by living present in the moment to the dictates of paint itself as ruler. My painting is at the core of my personal life's journey on a daily basis. When I awaken in the morning, I can't wait to live the day as fully as possible, seeing it as a privilege to be able to push a given painting along further from the previous day's work and, in fact, the last painting. I believe in practicing my skill as much as possible, as one would practice a musical instrument, to be there when this thing called revelation comes. There is always another level unfolding to the next one down the road. Ideas beget more interesting ideas." | | See more of their works: Lorna Ritz | | | | Technique: | | I am a painter of space and light, two ephemeral elements that transcend object. Each painting has its own specific inner light through the relationship of the colors emanating off the landscape. Recently I have been painting the ancient walls of Italy. I am influenced by what nature does over long periods of time. The walls of Pompeii were beaten by rain and wind and sun for 2000 years; I felt as though these walls entered my body as I walked through, seeping through my skin, eyes and hair....all throughout my body physically. The surfaces of my paintings have been actively influenced by the walls of Pompeii since, yet a further vocabulary for me for exploring depth on the flat surface on linen. | |
