Background:
Terri is a 43 year old mom of three boys. During the most painful time in her life, Terri found herself creating bone sighs, art that reflects a woman's journey down the path to find real. Working on her art at home, Terri is learning about life, becoming real, and growing that light that is inside all of us.
 
Artist Statement:
"Sometimes I get scared. Really scared, wondering if I can really support myself and my sons with my art. But something deep inside me tells me to keep going. To follow my heart and to listen to my insides. And every day brings tiny miracles and wonderful people that show me that life is for connecting and caring and being as true to yourself as you can be. Bone Sighs has taught me that. and I want to honor them with all I have. "

Technique:
When I create a bone sigh, an emotion will just fill me. I stop whatever I am doing and listen to what's trying to come out. I scribble down the words, scrunch my face, cover my eyes, and basically give birth to words from my depths. And then to honor those words, I add water color to them. I use concentrated watercolors and swirl them with water and see what the universe gives me. Adding on a simple design at the end, completes a bone sigh.
